Darul Arqam First Iftar

What a way to kickoff Ramadhan. I had an one of the most unforgettable starts yesterday. Weeks before this, I was given the duty roster and was pretty much despaired about being on duty on the first day of Ramadhan as I had wanted to have the first breaking fast session with family. But all of that were erased yesterday.

Working together in tandem amongst ourselves minus the other LAZY freaks, it was very tiring but fun alrite. Things at first did not went as planned as the contractor who needs to do the lights and fans were late and that hindered us from arranging the 28 rows of tables and chairs. And what bummed me was that , SOMEONE was giving instructions bla bla bla and assisted for less than a trickle of sweat before disappearing. Right....all talk no action. Sheessh! But it was kinda expected as the senior colleagues had already warned me earlier regarding THEM.

The pounding heat, suffocating humidity, uncooperative individuals and loads more other heavy impact factors, simply made fasting an ordeal. Midway thru everything, we were sweating from head to toe. The back of ours were damped with sweat. My mind was playing a merry-go-round and the body was on auto mode. Arranging each tables, as every piece of wood met the steel base is no joke ok. I can't figure out the words to use to describe the whole fatigue issue. Doing asar and maghrib was a total wreck! Sujud was the longest part cause it feels soooo damn good that I felt like wanting to lay on my belly and SLEEP!! It's that bad, really.

As we settled our very much battered body to the chair awaiting the azan, I realised that all the work was simply worth it cause as I looked around me, breaking fast with me are the people who I think are the main reason I am still staying put at work. Few people can say they have awesome colleague on and off office. And I'm privilege to have them as friends. We'll be doing it all over again next week and I can't wait. It's gonna be awesome!

Maghrib is gonna be in 15 minutes time. I'll better be gone to help sis setup the table. Slamat berbuka to all my muslim friends!!

xoxo,
AJ
