Agony Of Jobhunt  The rain fell on a day when Ummar and myself were out jobhunting. It started all sunny and I think I found myself scorched in the "morning going into afternoon" sun. Both of us were out of the house and met at 930am and we made our way to Sembawang. A career fair was going on in Jelutong CC which is a 5 minutes distance from Sun Plaza. The journey up north was terrible enough, minus the fact that there was an utterly adorable lady in pink sitting in front of me. She kept giving me those eyes, the ones that signalled "Can I get to know you?". Obviously I was glancing back too but as Sembawang draws near, I felt that my current financial state is not the ideal period for a love/crush interest, so I bailed. She was however a really cute girl. Ummar and I, we were not even at the CC when we joined the queue. YES!! This career fair requires you to queue, filled up forms and had your hand chopped. It was as if we were going into a club. The difference is that the sun is UP ABOVE OUR HEAD and at least, the queue in the clubs moved. The queue for the career fair, does NOT! The whole event was staged at a multi purpose hall. So the queue was snaking down the stairs, out of the CC, past the nearby police post, thru the void decks of some blocks and into the pavements by the streets. Sounds ridiculous, here's the prove..  It got so bad and it got so hot that both of us made a unanimous decision to ditch this for some agencies at town. I personally think that the chances there is much MUCH higher. Plus, with this much turnout, I do not like my probability ratio. It may sound pessimistic but if you look at it in a whole bigger picture, I might be losing something which I can't get back. And that is TIME. I would jolly well use the waiting time to go scour across town and fill up forms at the recruitment agencies.     Before we start our mission, we had a little rendezvous called lunch. At Long John Silver and since I had the coupon with the girlled stuffs, might as well give it a try. Ummar had grilled fish, and it tasted like fish and I do NOT like fish. Unless it is fish from Secret Recipe. Hehe! Then mine was Cajun Chicken and it was delicious. Minus the fact that the rice was very dry. Overall, using the coupon is worth it but if it comes to the original price, I'll stick to my Combo 2 or 1. Right after our interview sessions, it was already close to 4 and we decided to call it a day. Ahuh. Going out in the morning and stood out in the baking sun wasn't the actual plan but we had to go thru with it. It sucks to the core but hey, the reality of working life isn't easy. Just like how my dear Lily will be facing in the next coming phase of her life. Hehehe! Ouh by the way, I've made like 1000 new friends in facebook! Exaggerating of course. But but it's just fun I suppose. Who knows, one of these friends MIGHT be my wing-girl, a right hand kinda person you know. Hehe! That's about it I suppose.
