Old Times Gone

I stepped outtof the house today, once I slammed the door shut and trudged my way to the bus stop, the clear blue sky just reminds me of Sentosa!! It's prolly been more than a month since I've felt the powdery sand of the coast at either Siloso, Pahlawan or Tanjong beach. Come hell or high water, I am sooo goin to be THERE after Ramadhan. Fur sure!! Anyone of you can spank my teeny weeny ass if I ain't there within weeks after Ramadhan.

Sow soow soooww, it's a Wednesday. Midweek. Neither here nor there. Darn. I've got tonnes to do over the weekend. Big big spending venture to take place. Can I get someone to do my accounts for me. I'm totally bad at putting aside money for this and that. Tsk. Bad luh. No matter how much I kept remindin myself to control the splurge I'll end up signing on the credit card instead, which comes to the same. At the end of the month, still need to pay! Grrr.

This is where having a girlfriend comes into play. Ya know, you need to save to go out with the girl, to buy her surprises and stuff. This would probably sounds a tad cliche but errm, saving money to get married could be a major factor in your discipline to save up. I witnessed my bestie Andi, his course of saving up, scares me can? Obviously the boy earns abit more than me and he himself have abit of problems to save up. Not that he can't afford to but cost of living has increased drastically over the past 5 10 years. Paying high prices for mandatory necessity is not an option that you can say yes or no. Sheesshh!!

Gone were the days where drinks at school were 10cents. And you get a whole big cup of syrup juice!! MacDonalds were like $4 flat. And this is a value meal mind you. I still remember paying $6 for a weekend movie, paying 20cents for kachang puteh from the mama push cart and etc. There's so many good stuffs in the good old days.

I mentioned kachang puteh in the above paragraph. Hmmm have ANY one of you my faithful readers, watched a movie at the old old now defunct City Hall cinema. I think it's Capitol? Yeahh. Location? Well, ya know after you tap out there's basically 3 exits right? One goes to the Raffles City, City Link and the last one to the left towards Funan. The cinema is right smack opposite the escalator. You need to cross the road of course. It's behind that building opposite the escalator. So yeah, anyone of you have watched a movie there?

Lemme share with you abit of my experience aite. I've been there a couple of times with dad. We watched Indiana Jones and Conan. Ouh wait!! Robocop the first one was there too!! And behind the cinema would be this Indian uncle with his pushcart selling his kachang puteh and other snacks. Dad and me, while waiting would feed the large number of pigeons nearby with our kachang puteh. It's so fun and refreshing to do something like that with dad. Haha! That point of time, I was just alone with him. Small brother still at home in diapers. Kekeke!!

Everything was just so different years ago. Life in fact was very much more relaxing than now. There's life even though you gotta work but at the present state, everyone is chasing that mighty dollar. The chase for the bills are so intense nowadays that we forget how to take a back seat in life. As in really, take a back seat. Enjoying life doesn't mean spending alot. It could be as easy as strolling in a park and watch people do some kite flying. Now THAT is something I haven't seen for quite awhile.

That's my take on life. Of course, what's been mentioned are all thru' experience that I have and it's all just the tip of the iceberg. In details, I couldn't imagine the depth I need to go thru to dish it all out here. So c'mon boys and girls. Maybe YOU can share with me, how's your childhood's like? Memories to share. Comment box below or you could leave a tag too ok.

Have a superb Wednesday and stay safe!! XoXo.

Thank you so much for reading you all. And since you are already down here, PLEASE VOTE for who do you prefer to listen to for next month. Aite?? Mucho loves!
